2.0 is the continuation of Enthiran aka Robot, but not exactly a sequel. The first part was as a massive hit across the country. This time the expectations are multifold as two of Indian cinema’s biggest superstars are coming together for the first time. 2.0 marks the South Indian debut of Akshay. He is playing the villain role opposite superstar Rajinikanth. Akshay’s character is reportedly that of an evil scientist. As per his words, it is the most powerful character in his career so far.

Shankar has scripted the movie jointly with Jeyamohan. Many internationally acclaimed technicians are associated with 2.0. The movie is scheduled to hit screens worldwide. The much awaited teaser, both Hindi and Tamil version, will be released on September 13.
