9 has elements of horror, psychological thriller and science-fiction: Prithviraj

Prithviraj is currently awaiting the release of 9, a much hyped film directed by Jenuse Mohamed. From the promos itself it is evident that it is something of a kind that is very rarely seen in Malayalam cinema. While there are several speculations about the movie’s exact genre, lead actor Prithviraj believes that it has elements of horror, psychological thriller and science fiction. According to him, it is hard to brand the label the movie to one particular genre. It has several layers and concepts but at the core of which is an emotional father-son bonding.

9 is basically a turbulent relationship of a father and son. The story unfold in the backdrop of a massive global event that last nine days. Several new people enter their life during this time. What happens over this course of period forms the plot. Prithviraj is playing the role of Albert Lewis and child actor Alok plays his son, Adam. The cast also includes Prakash Raj, Mamta Mohandas, Wamiqa Gabbi, Tony Luke, Rahul Madhav and Adil Ibrahim.

9 is special for Prithviraj for many reasons. He is venturing to production with this movie. His newly launched banner Prithviraj Productions is producing the movie jointly with Sony Pictures International Productions. The makers have promised that the movie will be a new experience for the Malayali audience when watched in theatres.
