A sequel for MS Dhoni’s biopic on cards!

Mahendra Singh Dhoni is unarguably one of the most popular cricketers to have ever played for India. His success as a player and as a captain speaks volumes about his illustrious career. A biopic on him was made by director Neeraj Pandey with Sushant Singh Rajput in the lead. The movie which got released in 2016 was a huge success with critics and the commoners heaping praise on Sushant Singh’s performance. The big news is that a sequel for the biopic is currently in the planning.

As per latest reports from Bollywood medias, Ronnie Screwvala’s RSVP Films is producing the second installment to the MS Dhoni franchise. Sushant will be stepping into Dhoni’s shoes in the sequel as well. However, it remains to be seen if Neeraj Pandey will be returning back as the director. Kiara Adhvani and Anupam Kher, who played the roles of Dhoni’s wife and father respectively, are expected to reprise their roles in the sequel.

As per reports, the second installment will focus on Dhoni’s accomplishments post India’s victory at the 2011 World Cup. Dhoni’s stint with the IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings, India’s run at the 2015 World Cup and other milestones from his cricketing and personal life are all likely to be part of the movie. Meanwhile, news about the sequel has gone viral in social medias, which shows how excited Dhoni’s fans across the country are waiting to see more about their hero on big screen.
