Aadujeevitham team stuck in Jodran; Permitted to shoot till April 10

The crew of upcoming Malayalam film ‘Aadujeevitham’ have got themselves stranded in Jordan, where they had been shooting for the film. The team including lead actor Prithviraj and director Blessy had been shooting in Wadi Rum and staying in a desert camp nearby. But due to the Corona virus outbreak, authorities in Jordan have stopped all flights and inter state movements. Since they would face shortage of essential commodities including food items, director Blessy wrote a mail to Indian MP Anto Antony detailing their current situation. The MP has shared the mail in his official social media handle. He has also forwarded a mail to Jaishankar, the Indian External Affairs Minister to ensure the safety of ‘Aadujeevitham’ team.

Sharing the series of mails that he received and forwarded, MP Anto Antony has written,

Got a mail earlier today from my dear friend & Director Blessy who is stuck in Jordan at the moment shooting his next movie starring Prithviraj Sukumaran
Passed on his concerns to the external affairs minister for their well being & received an immediate response assuring the same.

The movie is based on my all time favourite novel ‘Aadujeevitham’ by Benyamin.
I wish and pray for the well being, safety and speedy return of the entire cast and crew.
Looking forward to the release of the movie.

With the help of the Second Secretary (Consular) in Jordan, the crew has eventually got the necessary support and official permission to proceed with the shoot till April 10. The only concern they are currently facing is regarding their return back to India.

‘Aadujeevitham’ is based on the award winning novel of the same name by Benyamin. The film originally went on floors two years back in March 2018. Due to Prithviraj’s other commitments and the need for him to appear in various looks, shoot happened over multiple schedules. Prithviraj has lost close to 30 kilos to achieve a malnourished look for the film. Apart from Jordan, the team was supposed to shoot in Algeria, Egypt and a few portions back home in Bangalore.
