Aashiq Abu turns cinematographer!

After dabbling as a filmmaker, producer and actor, Aashiq Abu is now trying his hands in cinematography. He is turning a DOP for ‘Haagar’, which he is also producing along with his wife Rima Kallingal. Harshad, the scriptwriter of ‘Unda’, is making his directorial debut with this film. Rima and Sharafudheen will be seen in the lead roles.

In a recent interview to TOI, when asked about he is decision to turn a cinematographer, Aashiq Abu said that he had always wanted to try it. Interestingly, he was hoping to be the cameraman for Syam Pushkaran’s directorial debut, but since that might take more time, he decided to debut with ‘Haagar’.

Harshad has scripted ‘Haagar’ along with Rajesh Ravi. Editor Saiju Sreedharan, composer duo Neha Nair and Yakzan Gary Pereir, production designer Jyothish Shankar, costume designer Sameera Saneesh and make up artist Ronex Xavier form the technical team. Shoot is scheduled to begin on July 5 in Kochi. The team will be following all safety protocols recommended by the government.
