Acclaimed filmmaker Bala to produce Joseph in Tamil
Joju George starrer ‘Joseph’ was one of the most talked about films in Malayalam last year. Directed by M Padmakumar, the film was about a retired policeman finding out the mystery behind his ex-wife’s death. Joju’s performance in the film was widely appreciated and he deservingly won a Special Jury Mention in National Awards and the Kerala State award for Best Character Actor.
As per latest reports, ‘Joseph’ is getting remade in Tamil. Producer-turned-actor RK Suresh will be playing the lead role in the film. M Padmakumar, who directed the Malayalam version, will be helming the Tamil remake as well, thus marking his K-Town debut. The film will be produced by acclaimed filmmaker Bala.
It is worth a mention that RK Suresh debuted as an actor with the Bala directorial ‘Tharai Thappattai’. He has acted in a few Malayalam films as well like ‘Shikkari Shambu’ and ‘Madhura Raja’. For the Joseph remake, Suresh will be appearing in two looks and will be gaining lot of weight to suit the demands of the character.
The makers have planned to start shooting in November and it has been scheduled as a March 2020 release. More details are expected to be revealed along with the formal announcement.
