Actor Kollam Ajith passes away

Noted Malayali actor Kollam Ajith passed away in the wee hours on Thursday. He was suffering from stomach related ailments and was under treatment in a private hospital in Kochi. According to reports, the body will be taken to his native place and the funeral will take place today itself.

Kollam Ajith is survived by his wife Prameela and two Gayathri and Sreehari. Born as Ajith to Kottayam native Padmanabhan and Saraswathi, he later changed his name to Kollam Ajith as he was born and brought up in Kollam. He started his journey in cinema as an assistant director and later became an actor.

He was a popular face in the Malayalam movies of the 80s and 90s. He mostly acted in villain and grey shaded roles. He has acted in more than 500 films in Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi languages and also in many television serials. He has also directed two movies.
