Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh to star in Akshay Kumar’s Sooryavanshi

Akshay Kumar’s new cop flick ‘Sooryavanshi’ directed by Rohit Shetty has started rolling today. Katrina Kaif plays the female lead in the movie and ‘Badhaai Ho’ fame Neen Gupta will be seen as Akshay’s mother. It is also reported that the movie will also have cameo appearances by Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh.

Director Rohit Shetty has created a police cinematic universe of his own with films like ‘Singham’, ‘Singham Returns’ and ‘Simmba’. While Ajay Devgn stars in the ‘Singham’ series, ‘Simmba’ had Ranveer Singh in the lead. Like how Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn made guest appearances as police officers in ‘Simmba’, ‘Sooryavanshi’ is also expected to have the coming together of three.

In ‘Sooryavanshi’, Akshay Kumar play anti-terrorist squad officer Sooryavanshi. Katrina Kaif is playing his love interest. The team is starting shooting today in Mumbai. After the Mumbai schedule, they be will fly to Bangkok to shoot Akshay’s introduction scene. Hyderabad and Goa are the other major locations. The film is slated to release for Eid next year.
