Ajay Devgn’s Maidaan to be released in multiple languages; Release date announced

Ajay Devgn’s football based film ‘Maidaan’ will be releasing worldwide on October 15, 2021. As announced by the makers, it will be out in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam languages. Directed by ‘Badhaai Ho’ fame Amit Sharma, the film is based on the life of Syed Abdul Rahim, called as the father of Indian football. Boney Kapoor, Akash Chawla and Arunava Joy Sengupta are jointly producing the film.

Syed Abdul Rahim is a former Indian football coach. He was also known as the architect of modern football in India. He had lead Indian football team to the semifinals of 1956 Melbourne Olympics. The film is set in the time period of 1956-62, which was the golden era of Indian football.

‘Maidaan’ has South Indian actress Priya Mani as the female lead. Initially, the makers had signed Keerthy Suresh for this part but she later opted out due to other commitments. The fjlm also stars Gajraj Rao and Rudranil Ghosh in important roles.
