Ajith appointed by Madras Institute of Technology as Helicopter Test Pilot and UAV System Adviser

One of Tamil cinema’s most popular actors, Ajith Kumar has been appointed by Anna University/Madras Institute of Technology (MIT) for helping them with their drone mission. Ajith, popularly called Thala by his fans, has been appointed by MIT as their Helicopter Test Pilot and UAV System Adviser.

Ajith will be paid a salary of Rs 1,000 per visit. He has offered to donate it for the education of MIT’s poor students. The actor will be begin his assignment by helping the team build an advanced UAV for Medical Express – 2018 UAV Challenge, a prestigious completion whose final round is scheduled to be held in Australia this coming September.

Ajith first developed an interest in aero-modelling as a school student. He nurtured his passion for designing and operating remote-controlled vehicles over the years. He often practices at the flying club in Chennai and is one of the few actors in India to possess a pilot license.

On the film front, Ajith will start shooting for Viswasam this month. The movie directed by Siva has Nayanthara as the female lead. Sathya Jyothi Films is funding this movie which is touted to be a rural-based commercial entertainer.
