AK Sajan’s next is again with Megastar Mammootty

AK Sajan who last directed Megastar Mammootty in Puthiya Niyamam has again roped in the megastar for his next movie. The director himself revealed this news in a recent interview. AK Sajan said that his new movie will have Mammootty in a different character zone. He did not reveal more details about the movie as the script works is still under progress.

AK Sajan started his film career as a writer through Mammootty’s all time blockbuster movie Dhruvam. He later worked as a screenwriter for Mammootty’s two other movies – Aparichithan in 2004 and Dhrona in 2010.

Last year the two teamed up for Puthiya Niyamam, a family thriller. Lady superstar Nayanthara played the female lead in this movie. It could not achieve commercial/critical success. Mediocre screenplay and the predictable climax backfired for the movie.

Mammootty is currently shooting for Puthan Panam directed by ace filmmaker Ranjith. He has also committed for movies with 7th Day fame Shyam Dhar, Rajadhiraja fame Ajai Vasudev, Shafi, writer Sethu and Vysakh (Raja 2).

He is also awaiting the release of The Great Father, his most anticipated movie in recent times. The movie directed by debutant Haneef Adeni is a revenge thriller which also stars Arya, Shaam, Sneha, Mia George and many other prominent actors. National award winning filmmaker Ram’s bilingual Peranbu is another movie slated to release early this year.
