Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi to star in Driving Licence remake!

If reports are to be believed, yet another Malayalam movie is set to be remade in Hindi. Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi are rumoured to play the leads in the remake of ‘Driving Licence’. Raj Mehta, who has worked with Akshay in ‘Good Newwz’, will be helming this film and Karan Johar’s Dharma Produtions will be producing it.

‘Driving Licence’ scripted by the late Sachy and directed by Jr Lal had Prithviraj Sukumaran and Suraj Venjaramoodu as the leads. The film is about a troublesome relationship between a film star and his once-ardent fan. Upon its release in December 2019, the film emerged as a big hit at the box office. Ever since then, there have been rumours about the film getting remade in other languages.

It is learnt that the Hindi version will be slightly tweaked to suit their sensibilities. Akshay Kumar will be playing the superstar’s role and Emraan Hashmi will be playing the part essayed by Suraj Venjaramoodu in the original. As per reports, the team is looking at beginning production in January 2022 and wrap up the entire film in a 40-day-long schedule.
