Allu Arjun’s much-anticipated action drama Pushpa 2—The Rule, directed by Sukumar, has made history by surpassing ₹1000 crore in pre-release business. The film, a sequel to the blockbuster Pushpa: The Rise, has been in immense demand across the trade circuit, setting new benchmarks even before its release.
According to recent trade reports, the theatrical rights of Pushpa 2 have been sold for a staggering ₹600 crore globally. The Telugu states (Andhra Pradesh and Telangana), along with North India, have contributed the lion’s share, with the rights fetching between ₹375 and 400 crore. The film’s business in the rest of India has brought in around ₹100 crore, while the overseas theatrical rights were sold for an impressive ₹125 crore.
In addition to its strong theatrical sales, Pushpa 2 has also struck record-breaking deals in the non-theatrical space. Streaming giant Netflix secured the digital rights for a massive ₹275 crore, making it one of the highest for any Indian film. Music rights were sold for ₹65 crore, while the television rights fetched another ₹85 crore.
With a total pre-release business, including both theatrical and non-theatrical deals, exceeding ₹1025 crore, Pushpa 2 – The Rule has set a new milestone in Indian cinema. Distributors are banking on the film’s strong box office performance to make it profitable when it hits theaters on December 5/6 in multiple languages.
The expectations are sky-high as Allu Arjun reprises his iconic role of Pushpa Raj in this high-octane sequel, promising more action, drama, and excitement for fans worldwide.
