Asif Ali’s next with Sibi Malayil starts rolling

Asif Ali’s new film with veteran director Sibi Malayil got launched today. The film is produced by director Ranjith and PM Sasidharan under the banner of Gold Coin Motion Pictures. Debutant Hemanth is scripting the film. Reports suggest that it will be predominately shot in and around Kozhikode. Shoot will be conducted following all the Covid-19 safety protocols.

Sibi Malayil is making a comeback after a five year long gap with this film. It also marks the director’s collaboration with Ranjith after two long decades. Ranjith and Sibi Malayil have previously collaborated in ‘Maya Mayuram’, ‘Summer in Bethlahem’ and ‘Ustaad’. Ranjith had scripted these films. Likewise, Sibi Malayil and Asif Ali have also worked together in ‘Apoorvaragam’, ‘Violin’ and ‘Unnam’.

The new film, which is yet to be titled, has Prashanth Raveendran as the DOP and Kailas Menon as the music director. More details are awaited.
