Asuran Telugu remake: Here’s the first look poster of Venkatesh’s Naarappa

Last year’s highly acclaimed Tamil film ‘Asuran’ getting remade in Telugu as ‘Naarappa’. Veteran star Venkatesh will be reprising Dhanush’s role from the original and it will be directed by Srikanth Addala. Suresh Productions and Kalaipuli S Thanu’s V Creations are jointly producing the remake version. Last day, the a set of posters were released online. Venkatesh is seen sporting the same look as Dhanush had in ‘Asuran’.

‘Asuran’ told the story of a lower caste family’s fight for survival. Vetrimaaran adapted the film from Poomani’s famous novel ‘Vekkai’. The film got widespread critical appreciate the. It was also a phenomenal success at the box office as became Dhanush’s first film to enter the Rs 100 crore club.

The makers of ‘Naarappa’, the Telugu version, will be hoping to repeat the success. The script is expected to be tweaked slightly to suit the sensibilities of the Telugu audience. Priya Mani is in talks to reprise Manju Warrier’s role from the original. Mani Sharma has been signed as the music director.
