Atif Aslam to debut in Malayalam with Shane Nigam’s Haal

Popular Pakisthani singer Atif Aslam known for his Hindi chartbusters such as ‘Aadat’, ‘Woh Lamhe’, ‘Pehli Nazar Mein’, ‘Tera Hone Laga Hoon’ etc is set to make his Malayalam debut with Shane Nigam’s new film, Haal. It is reported that the singer has already recorded a song for the movie under debutant music director Nadhagopan V’s composition. Mridul Meer and Neeraj Kumar have written the song lyrics. This is Atif’s return to Indian film industry after a hiatus of almost seven years after supreme court lifted the ban on Pakisthani artists performing in India.

Haal is directed by Prasanth Vijayakumar under the banner of JVJ Productions. Nishad Koya, known for his films such as Ordinary, Madhura Naranga, Thopil Joppan and Shikari Sambhu has written the film as a musical love story. It has cinematography by Karthik Muthukumar, art department handled by Prasanth Madhav and editing by Sreejith Sarang.

Haal, touted as one of Shane Nigam’s biggest films, will begin shoot in Kozhikode by the first week of May. The makers have also planned to shoot it in Mysore and Jordan. The film is set to be released simultaneously in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Kannada languages.
