Attack on popular actress; Vishal extends support on behalf of Kollywood

The recent attack on a popular Malayalam actress in Kochi has seen range of emotions to support and emotional outbursts lamenting over the safety of women in our society. The whole of Malayalam film industry came together to express their solidarity to their colleague. Actors including Mammootty, Lal, Innocent, Dileep, Manju Warrier and many socio-political figures expressed their support to the actress.

Now, support is pouring in from Kollywood also. Actor Vishal, the general secretary of Nadigar Sangam extended his support for the young actress.

Recently, in a press meet in Chennai, the actor voiced his disappointment over the appalling incident that has sent shock waves across film industries. He appreciated the courage shown by the actress to file a complaint against the perpetrators without fearing the aftermath and her image.

During the press meet, he asked, “If this is the situation for a well known celebrity, then how would it be for ordinary people in the society?“. Vishal along with Nadigar Sangam president and veteran actor Nassar has written a letter to the Chief Minister of Kerala, requesting to find the culprits as early as possible.
