Most awaited Malayalam Movies of 2016 !

2016 has arrived and Malayalam Cinema is also hoping for a terrific year ahead with some great movies is getting ready to hit the screens here this year. 2015 was a good year for Mollywood financially as well as aesthetically. Now all eyes are on the films that releasing this year and there are many films that has already booked its place in much awaited films list of this year. It has Super Star films as well as young star films. We picked the 10 most anticipated films of this year as per the trend now in Mollywood.

1. Action Hero Biju

This Nivin Pauly starrer film directed by Abrid shine will release this month itself and the anticipation is due to two factors. One is the team behind the film, Nivin Pauly-Abrid Shine who gave us the critically and commercially successful film 1983 and second is that this is the first film of Nivin Pauly which will be releasing after the record breaker Premam.

2. Puli Murugan

This Mohanlal starrer flick directed by Vysakh is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated film of this year. The film is one of the big budget films ever made in Mollywood and telling a unique plot as per reports. The film is slated for a Vishu release this year and it is almost sure that it will break all existing first day and weekend collection record in Mollywood. And if it gets an average or above average review from public it’s certain that the film will break many collection records here.

3. King Liar

This ‘Janapriya Nayakan’ Dileep-Madonna Sebastain starrer is in news and having great anticipation for only one reason. That is the reunion of the master directors Siddique and Lal after almost 20 years. The film may release in this year March as per reports.

4. Amal Neerad- Dulquer Salmaan Film

This one is not titld and begun its shooting yet. But names associated with it made it much anticipated. Amal Neerad and Dulquer Salmaan. They had announced the releasing date strangely and it is August 16 this year.

5. Syamanthakam

This Prithviraj starrer will be the highest budget film ever made in Mollywood and will be based of the episode from Mahabharatha. The flick will be directed by6 Master director Hariharan.

6. Kali

This is the film directed by Sameer Thahir and starred by Dulquer Salmaan. Those two names are enough for great expectations but the name of Sai Pallavi also adde up to the anticipation level of the film.

7. Jacobinte Swarga Rajyam

This one is from Vineeth Sreenivasan-Nivin Pauly team and that is the sole reason for the hype around the movie. This team had delivered successes whenever they joined together and this time too people expecting a grand success from them.

8. Megastar 393

This film directing by Akhil Paul and Anaz Khan will have Mammootty in the lead and will be an action thriller. The flick has been tentatively titled as Megastar 393 and will start rolling this February as per reports.

9. Rajeev Ravi- Dulquer Salmaan Film

This film now in shoot will have Dulquer in the lead and directing by Rajeev Ravi. The hope around the film is based on the combination joining for the first time and also the reputation Rajeev Ravi has with his realistic way of story- telling.

10. Puthiya Niyamam

This is Major January release this year starring Mammootty and Nayanthara. It is directed by A K Sajan and there is an air of expectation around the film and rumors are spreading that it can break Mohanlal’s Drishyam film Box office record and will emerge as the Numero Uno in Mollywood box office history.
