The birth of a film that made Mohanlal and Mammootty to share the kingdom of Mollywood !

Mohanlal, the complete actor of Indian cinema and when it comes to his stardom here, he is the best ever Mollywood had witnessed in its history. How that journey to stardom began and how the kingdom of Mollywood had started to be shared by Mammootty and Mohanlal..? Director Thambi Kannanthanam has the answer for that and it was indeed his creation that made it possible. We are talking about Rajavinte Makan directed by Thambi Kannanthanam and scripted by Dennis Joseph which had made Mohanlal, the Super Star of Mollywood.

Thambi Kannanthanam said that it was actually the film which offered to Mammootty at first. But he refused to do it because their last association was a failure. So Thambi Kannanthanam had approached Mohanlal, who was the second most popular hero and may be the best choice after Mammootty at that time. Mohanlal had agreed to do the film and he had received the highest remuneration of his career for that film as well. He had received 1 Lakh rupees for Rajavinte Makan which was produced by director Thambi Kannanthanam himself. Even though Mammootty was the one who came to the starting pooja function of the film as main guest, Thambi says he focus was entirely on Mohanlal.

While he was filming the first scene of that film with Mohanlal, he realized that Mohanlal has the rare ability to take the character above the imagination level or expectation level of a film maker. His presentation of Vincent Gomaz was that terrific to say the last. It was a Mohanlal, Malayalee audience never seen before and they were accepted the film with both hands. It was a terrific success and Mohanlal was given the crown of a Super Star by the film lovers of Kerala.

Within a gap of 6 months, this duo of Mohanlal and Thambi Kannanthanam had made two other films as well named Bhoomiyile Rajakkanmar and Vazhiyora Kazhchakal. Both of the films were become huge successes like Rajavinte Makan and Mohanlal thus become the undisputed king of Mollywood.

After the Sathyan-Prem Nazeer duo, Mollywood had got another duo to celebrate and it was the duo of Mammootty and Mohanlal. The two kings who are still ruling the Kingdom called Mollywood.
