Bridge on Galwan: Major Ravi’s next is based on Indo-Chinese conflict
Malayalam filmmaker Major Ravi is well known for helming army-based movies. Some of his most popular films include Keerthichakra’, ‘Kurukshetra’ and ‘Mission 90 Days’. The director is now planning to make a film which will focus on the Indo-Chinese conflict. Titled as ‘Bridge on Galwan’, the film will be primarily centred around the construction of the strategic bridge on Galwan valley that was a key trigger for the issues between the two countries.
Major Ravi’s announcement comes at a time when the tensions between India and China have escalated severely. Earlier this month, the Indian army and China’s People’s Liberation Army had an ugly face-off which resulted in the martydom of many soldiers.
According to Major Ravi, his new film will be revealing the incidents that happened between India and Chinese in the past, the ripples in their bilateral ties and how it all led to such an escalation point. The director is planning to make a pan-Indian film with top actors from various languages. It remains to be seen if superstar Mohanlal will also be part of the film. The duo have previously worked together in five films.
Major Ravi is eyeing to start shoot by January 2021 depending on the pandemic situation and weather in the Leh-Ladakh region.
