Captain GR Gopinath is all praise of Soorarai Pottru team!

‘Soorarai Pottru’ continues to excellent response in social medias. Critics, celebs and commoners have all been heaping praise on the film. Directed by Sudha Kongara, the film is inspired from the life of Captain GR Gopinath, the founder of Air Deccan. It is based on his book ‘Simply Fly’, which details his journey from humble backgrounds to fulfilling his dream of launching his own aircraft business with the aim of serving the underprivileged. Suriya plays the lead character named Nedumaaran Rajangam and Aparna Balamurali essays his wife’s role.

After watching the film, GR Gopinath has shared his views through his Twitter handle. Though he admits that it is a heavily fictionalized film, he was all praise of the makers for capturing the true essence of the story of his book. He particularly mentioned the performances of the two lead actors — Suriya and Aparna Balamurali besides showering praise on director Sudha Kongara. He even added that the family portions moved him to tears.

In a series of tweets, Gopinath has written,

Sorarai potru ..Heavily fictionalised but outstanding in capturing the true essence of the story of my book. A real roller coaster.
Yes watched it last night. Couldn’t help laughing and crying on many family scenes that brought memories.

Dramatised but true to the undying spirit of triumph of hope against struggles and tribulations of an entrepreneur with disadvantaged rural background over overwhelming odds.

The portrayal of my wife Bhargavi by Aparna was very well etched out , of a woman who had her own mind , strong but soft , feisty and fearless and an inspiration to rural women especially who are equal and can be entrepreneurs in their own right.

And Suriya was powerful and carried off the part of an entrepreneur obsessed to the point of madness that makes dreams come true. A timely and great uplifting story in these times of gloom.

And kudos and big salute to Director Sudha , to have balanced very deftly a male centric story lead by Suriya by portraying a wife acted by Aparna who was a powerful counter balance in an inspiring and heartwarming way
