CBI 5 to be launched on the auspicious day of Chingam 1

It is already known that the fifth part of the popular CBI franchise is on cards. The project has been in the talks for over two years but kept getting delayed due to various reasons. The trio of Mammootty, script writer SN Swamy and director K Madhu are reuniting for the fifth part and Swargachitra Appachan will be producing it.

It has now been announced that ‘CBI 5’ will be launched in August, on the auspicious day of Chingam 1. The makers are planning to shoot the film in Ernakulam, Thiruvananthapuram, Hyderabad and New Delhi. Shoot will be wrapped up in a single schedule.

Scriptwriter SN Swamy had earlier assured that ‘CBI 5’ will be a great experience for the audience. He even claimed that the film’s climax will redefine the way future thrillers get made in Malayalam cinema and trigger the start of a new wave. While Mammootty will be making a comeback as the iconic Sethurama Iyer, he will be joined by Mukesh, Sai Kumar, Renji Panicker and many others. On the technical front, Jakes Bejoy has been signed as the music director.
