Censor board in Kerala refers Trance to Revising Committee in Mumbai

After multiple postponing over the last two years, Fahadh Faasil’s much hype ‘Trance’ finally got this Valentine’s Day (February 14) as the release date. With just a few days left for release, the makers have hit a new roadblock in the form of censoring. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) in Thiruvananthapuram has referred the film to the revising committee in Mumbai. Trade analyst Sreedhar Pillai broke the news through his Twitter handle.

It is heard that the CBFC officials in Kerala had an issue with an 8-minute long sequence in the film, which they either wanted to be blurred or completely removed. Since director Anwar Rasheed was not willing to agree the proposal, they have referred the film to Mumbai. The issue is expected to be resolved by Monday and the film gets a smooth release on February 14.

‘Trance’ is a highly ambitious project with a huge budget involved in it. Director Anwar Rasheed, who is making his comeback after a long gap, is also producing the film under his own banner. Big names like cinematographer Amal Neerad and sound designer Resul Pookutty are part of the technical side.

Vincent Vadakkan has scripted the film that has Fahadh playing the lead of a motivational trainer named Viju Prasad. The film is centred around his mental and emotional growth at different phases of his life. Nazriya plays the female lead named Esther Lopez. The cast includes Gautham Vasudev Menon, Soubin Shahir, Chemban Vinod Jose, Vinayakan, Dileesh Pothan, Arjun Ashokan, Sreenath Bhasi and many others.
