Check out Vijay Sethupathi’s new look in his upcoming movie Kadaisi Vivasayi

Vijay Sethupathi is quite popular for his love for choosing unconventional films. His upcoming film ‘Kadaisi Vivasayi’ is one such film that has him playing a supporting role. An old man named Nallandi plays the lead role in the movie. It is directed by Manikandan of ‘Kaaka Muttai’ and ‘Aandavan Kattalai’ fame.

‘Kadaisi Vivasayi’ is set in a village where no good things happen for a long time. The worried villagers decide to hold special prayers for the regional deity worshipped by them. However, for the prayer to be conducted, they require the contribution of paddy by the villagers as an offering. Unfortunately, people in the locality stopped doing agriculture for several years. Now, their only hope is the protagonist, an 85-year-old farmer who does agriculture in his small piece of land and cultivates for himself. The helpless villagers decide to request paddy from him. Whether he offers the paddy or not forms the rest of the plot.

Interestingly, director Manikandan first wanted to make the movie with Rajinikanth. The superstar was supposed to play the elderly villager’s role and he was impressed by the storyline as well. But due to various other reasons, the project didn’t materialize and Manikandan opted to do it cast a lesser known actor.

Along with Vijay Sethupathi, the movie also has Yogi Babu in a supporting role. It has music composed Ilaiyaraja. Shoot has already been wrapped up and is expected to hit screens soon.
