Chekka Chivantha Vaanam: Appani Sarath Kumar in Mani Ratnam’s next!
Legendary filmmaker Mani Ratnam’s upcoming movie Chekka Chivantha Vaanam is getting ready to start rolling. This project has been in the news for a long time thanks to its star studded cast and crew. The director pulled off a casting coup of sorts by roping in Arvind Swamy, Vijay Sethupathi, Simbu, Arun Vijay, Aditi Rao Hydari, Jyothika and Aishwarya Rajesh for the lead roles.
Malayali actor Fahadh Faasil was initially cast in the movie, but he opted out due to some unknown reasons. Arun Vijay later replaced him in the role. Fahadh opting out of such a big project came as a big disappointment for the Malayali movie lovers but they have now got another reason to be happy.
Sarath Kumar aka Appani Sarath of ‘Angamaly Diaries’ fame has been roped in to play a crucial role in Chekka Chivantha Vaanam. Mani Ratnam has always been a fan of raw talents from Malayalam industry and has cast many of them in his movies. Sarath is the latest from M-Town to bag a role in the ace filmmaker’s movie.
Sarath made an impressive debut by playing the villain ‘Appani Ravi’ in Angamaly Diaries. His terrific performance in the movie opened gates to a slew of offers and he was soon part of several big projects. Chekka Chivantha Vaanam is actually his second Tamil movie. He is making his Tamil debut with the sequel of Vishal’s superhit movie Sandakozhi, in which he is playing one of the villains. He is expected to join Mani Ratnam’s camp next month.
