Cinematographer and filmmaker KV Anand passes away
Filmmaker and cinematographer KV Anand passed away early on Friday morning in Chennai following a cardiac arrest. The 54-year-old felt discomfort and drove himself to a private hospital in the city where he breathed his last. Following the shocking news, celebs from across the South Indian film industry are pouring in their condolences through social medias.
KV Anand started his career as a freelance photo journalist for leading newspapers and national magazines. Later, he joined PC Sreeram as his assistant. He turned an independent cinematographer with the Malayalam film ‘Thenmavin Kombath’, for which he won the National award. He debuted in Tamil with ‘Kadhal Desam’. Anand later teamed up with director Shankar for ‘Mudhalvan’, ‘Boys’ and ‘Sivaji’. He has also worked in Hindi films like ‘Josh’, ‘The Legend of Bhagat Singh’, ‘Nayak’ and ‘Khakee’.
Anand made his directorial debut in 2005 with ‘Kana Kandaen’. ‘Ko’, ‘Ayan’, ‘Maattrraan’, ‘Anegan’ and ‘Kavan’ are his other films. His last release was ‘Kaappaan’ starring Suriya and Malayalam superstar Mohanlal.
