Confirmed: Jayasurya to play a dual role in his next!

Last day, Jayasurya’s new movie was announced with director Rojin Thomas, with whom he had previously worked in ‘Philips and the Monkey Pen’. Vijay Babu of Friday Film House is producing the movie which has almost the same technical team from Monkey Pen. As per latest reports, this upcoming movie has been titled as ‘Home’ and will have Jayasurya playing a dual role.

Jayasurya, who is well known for his versatility, will be portraying the roles of a 60-year-old and his son in this movie. Home will be a feel-good story that explores that dynamics of a father-son relationship. Interestingly, this movie was first planned with Antony Varghese of ‘Angamaly Diaries’ fame but the idea was later dropped due to some unknown reasons.

Rojin Thomas co-directed ‘Philips and The Monkey Pen’ with Shanil Muhammed. The movie, which was released in 2013, emerged as a sleeper hit, winning both critical and commercial acclaim. Rojin later directed ‘Jo and The Boy’ with Manju Warrier, but the movie failed to click at the box office. For his new movie with Jayasurya, Rojin has retained his core team of technicians – DOP Neil DCunha and composer Rahul Subrahamanian.
