Confirmed: Mammootty’s One will be a theatre release!

Mammootty’s ‘One’ was getting ready for release amidst high expectations when the lockdown was announced. Post-production works were in the final stages with just a couple of days patch up shoot left. The film was originally slated for Vishu release in April. Going by the current scenario, we will have to wait a little longer.

Of late, there have been lots of talks going on about films getting direct OTT release. Jayasurya’s ‘Sufiyum Sujathayum’ is most likely to be the first mainstream Malayalam film to be released directly on streaming platforms. However, the makers of ‘One’ have confirmed that the film will only be a theatrical release. It is an ambitious political film with a big star cast.

Santhosh Viswanath of ‘Chirakodinja Kinavukal’ fame is directing the film. Bobby and Sanjay have scripted the film based on some real life incidents. Joju George, Murali Gopy, Nimisha Sajayan, Sudev Nair, Suresh Krishna, Shanker Ramakrishnan, Alencier Ley Lopez, Mammukoya, Siddique, Balachandra Menon, Salim Kumar, Madhu, Ranjith, Mathew Thomas, Ishaani Krishna, Gayathri Arun and many others are part of the film’s cast.
