Dangal bags a whopping 75 crores as satellite rights

Indian cinema’s Mr. Perfect Aamir Khan is known putting in his maximum efforts and striving hard to get into the skin of a character. His body transformation for the upcoming movie Dangal stunned the audience across the country.

Aamir Khan is playing a aged wrestler in the movie inspired from the real life of Mahavir Singh Phogat. The actor will have two looks in the movie, one as a aged with a tummy and grey hair while the other will have a younger look with a perfectly ribbed body. The trailers and songs spiked the expectation levels.

According to reports coming in from Bollywood media, popular tv channel Zee TV has acquired the satellite rights of Dangal for a whopping amount of Rs 75 crores.

This amount is the highest among Indian films breaking the precious record set by another Aamir Khan starrer, Dhoom 3 which was sold for Rs 65 crores for Sony Entertainment.

The minimum guarantee in this deal is 55 crore, while further 20 crore will be given if the film crosses a certain benchmark like 200 or 300 crores.

Aamir Khan himself produced Dangal under his home production banner Aamir Khan Productions along with Walt Disney. Aamir holds the 70% of the share while Disney holds 30%.

Dangal is made on a moderate budget of around 70 crores. But trade circles expect the movie to enter the 300 crore club from the first 10 days itself.

The movie stars Sakshi Tanwar, Fathima Sana Sheikh, Zaira Wasim, Sanya Malhotra and Rajkumar Rao playing prominent characters.

Dangal directed by Nitish Tiwari is scheduled to release on December 23rd.
