Darbar: Rajinikanth’s next starts rolling in Mumbai

Superstar Rajinikanth’s new film ‘Darbar’ has gone on floors today. The team had a customary pooja ceremony in Mumbai. Rajinikanth, director Murugadoss, cinematographer Santosh Sivan and other crew members were present for the pooja. Lyca Productions, who last collaborated with the superstar in 2.0, is producing this movie as well.

‘Darbar’ has Rajinikanth in role of a Mumbai based police officer. Nayanthara has been signed as the female lead. Nivetha Thomas is also said to be playing a crucial role in the movie. ‘Darbar’ is most likely to be an out and out mass entertainer just like how the fans expect. It has been decades since the star last played a cop, so fans are highly excited about it.

On the technical front, the movie has Anirudh Ravichander as the composer, veteran Sreekar Prasad as the editor and Ram-Laxman duo as the stunt choreographers. The makers have announced that the movie will be releasing for next Pongal in January.
