Deepika Padukone paid a whopping remuneration of Rs 20 crore for Prabhas 21

It was recently announced that Deepika Padukone would be playing the female lead in Prabhas’s new film directed by ‘Mahanati’ fame Nag Ashwin. Tentatively titled as ‘Prabhas 21’, it is a massive project backed by Vyjayanthi Films. The legendary production is celebrating their 50th anniversary and this project is hence a very prestigious one for them.

Deepika Padukone and Prabhas are coming together for the first time and expectations are already huge. Reports suggest that Deepika has been paid a whopping remuneration of Rs 20 crore for the film. If it is indeed true, this is probably the highest for any female actor in the history of Indian cinema.

‘Prabhas 21’ is being planned as a pan-Indian film with a mammoth budget of over Rs 400 crore. It is said to be a futuristic sci-fi thriller set against the backdrop of an imaginary third world war. The film is planned to start rolling in April next year and expected to release in 2022. Apart from Telugu, the film will also be simultaneously made in Tami and Hindi languages.
