Dhanush to remake Ayushmann Khuranna’s Andhadhun in Tamil
Sriram Raghavan’s ‘Andhadhun’ was one of the most acclaimed films in in Indian cinema last year. Besides the critical acclaim, the Ayushmann Khuranna starrer emerged as a big commercial blockbuster as well, earning over Rs 100 crores from the box office alone. Ever since its release and the tremendous response that followed, there have been talks about the movie getting remade in various languages.
Recently, during the promotions of his upcoming Hollywood film ‘The Extraordinary Journey of Fakir’, actor Dhanush revealed that he is remaking ‘Andhadhun’ in Tamil. It is not yet known if Dhanush will be starring in the film as the actor has only mentioned about initiating the process of acquiring the remake rights.
‘Andhadhun’ is a quirky dark comedy starring Ayushmann Khuranna, Tabu and Radhika Apte in the leads. Upon its release in last October, the movie earned unanimously rave reviews for its unique screenplay and the performances of its lead cast. Deservingly, the movie was also ranked as the highest rated Indian movie of 2018 by IMDb.
It will be interesting to see how Dhanush adapts the film to suit the sensibilities of the Tamil audience. The actor meanwhile is busy with the final stages of shoot of ‘Asuran’, directed by Vetrimaaran. He is also simultaneously shooting for an untitled film with Durai Senthil Kumar of ‘Kodi’ fame.
