Dhanush to start shooting for Maari 2 from September

Dhanush presently has multiple projects in his kitty but that has not stopped him from signing for new films. According to latest reports, the actor will soon start shooting for Maari 2, the sequel to his 2015 film directed by Balaji Mohan.

Maari was an action-comedy drama starring Dhanush, Kajal Agarwal, Robo Shankar and Vijay Yesudas in major roles. Despite releasing amid huge hype, the movie could emerge only as a mediocre success. It is not common for an average grosser to have a sequel but Maari, the character was a big hit which inspired the makers for a sequel.

Maari 2 is Dhanush’s second sequel this year. He is awaiting the release of Vellai Illa Pattadhari 2 aka VIP 2. The movie, directed by Soundarya Rajinikanth stars Dhanush, Amala Paul and Bollywood actress Kajol in the lead roles.

Dhanush has just wrapped up shooting his portions for his Hollywood debut The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir, directed by Ken Scott. After returning back, he will resume works on Gautham Menon’s Enai Nokki Paayum Thota.
