Dhyan Sreenivasan’s Love Action Drama starring Nivin Pauly and Nayanthara will be a modern day Vadakkunokkiyanthram

Recently, it was announced that Dhyan Sreenivasan will be making his directorial debut with an upcoming movie starring Nivin Pauly and Nayanthara in the lead roles. The movie has been titled as Love Action Drama and it will feature Nivin as Dineshan and Nayanthara as Shobha.

It must be remembered that these are the character names of the lead actors in Dhyan’s father, director Sreenivasan’s yesteryear film Vadakkunokkiyanthram. Following the announcement of the title and character names, it was speculated that Dhyan’s debut movie will be a spoof film.

However, Dhyan, who has also written the movie, has clarified that Love Action Drama is a romantic comedy. It is a modern day take on Vadakkunokkiyanthram. Nivin Pauly’s character will have a few similarities to Dineshan of Vadakkunokkiyanthram, but there will be no other semblance.

Aju Varghese is playing a prominent character in this movie. He is also venturing into production by funding this movie along with Vishak Subramaniam under the banner of Funtastic Films. Shaan Rahman will be handling the music department and Vivek Harshan has been roped in as the editor.

The team is planning to start the movie’s shoot in October. Chennai and Alappuzha have been finalized as the main locations. The makers are eyeing to release it for next year’s summer.
