Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, entertainment industries across the world have been severely hit. In the Indian film industry, many producers had openly requested stars, filmmakers and other technicians to reduce their salaries due to the current financial constraints.
Tamil filmmaker Hari has voluntarily decided to cut 25% from his usual remuneration for his upcoming biggie ‘Aruvaa’ that has Suriya in the lead. KE Gnanavel Raja of Studio Green is producing the film. Hari’s gesture has been appreciated by many from within the industry. More filmmakers and stars are expected to follow suit. Actors Vijay Antony and Harish Kalyan have already expressed their willingness to reduce their salary.
‘Aruvaa’ marks director Hari’s sixth time collaboration with Suriya after ‘Vel’, ‘Aaru’ and the three-part ‘Singam’ franchise. The makers have confirmed that ‘Aruva’ is a rural mass entertainer that will be high on family emotions. Raashi Khanna has been signed as the female lead.
