I don’t think there will be another movie like Take Off in my career: Fahadh Faasil

Editor Mahesh Narayanan’s directorial debut Take Off has entered it’s second week of theatrical run and is continuing it’s glorious run in all the release centres. The movie starring Parvathy Menon, Kunchako Boban, Fahadh Faasil and Asif Ali in major roles opened to overwhelmingly positive reports.

Industry insiders including superstars Mohanlal and Mammootty appreciated the movie. Kollywood star recently Suriya also recently appreciated the movie through a tweet.

One of the primary architects of the movie’s success, Fahadh Faasil in a recent interview opened up on how he became a part of Take Off. Apparently, Fahadh was not initially part of the movie during the discussion stages. Mahesh was planning to make another movie with Fahadh. In between that he told Fahadh about a movie he wanted to do with Kunchako Boban and Parvathy Menon. Upon producer Anto Joseph’s request, Fahadh heard the story and that happened to be Take Off. Later, he was he offered the Indian ambassador’s role in the movie.

Elaborating about why he agreed to do the movie, Fahadh said, “It is a story about Malayali nurses trapped in Iraq during the war period. I wanted the world to know more about the ordeal they underwent, their emotional turmoil and their survival through the medium of cinema. Also, Take Off in a way fulfilled the dreams of Rajesh Pillai a man who lived for cinema. I did not want to let go off this movie and I don’t think there will be another movie like Take Off in my life.

Fahadh played the role of Manoj Abraham, an Indian Ambassador in Take Off. With his restrained yet powerful performance, he fitted the bill perfectly as a diplomat. Like always, his eyes conveyed the stress and emotional constraints the character goes through while spearheading the rescue operations.

The movie was funded by Anto Joseph and Shebin Becker in association with Rajesh Pillai Films. Mekha Rajesh Pillai is the executive producer of the movie.
