Drishya 2: Kannada remake of Drishyam 2 announced

Mohanlal’s hugely successful ‘Drishyam 2’ is getting remade in multiple languages. While the Telugu version starring Venkatesh as the lead has already begun, the Kannada version has just been announced. Earlier, ‘Drishyam’ was also remade in Kannada as ‘Drishya’. The same team is now reuniting for the second part. P Vasu is directing the film and V Ravichandran will be playing the lead role. It is worth a mention that P Vasu has also remade some other Malayalam films like ‘Bharatham’, ‘Mancithrathazhu’, ‘Katha Parayumbol’, ‘Thoovalsparsham in various languages.

Upon its release in Amazon Prime Video, ‘Drishyam 2’ turned out to be a big hit. The film directed by Jeethu Joseph had Mohanlal, Meena, Asha Sarath, Ansiba Hassan and Esther Anil reprising their roles from the first part. Thanks to a direct OTT release, several non-Malayali audience have already watched the film. So it will be interesting to see if the remake versions will have alternate climaxes. E4 Entertainment is producing the Kannada version.
