Drushyam 2 also set for direct OTT release?

Due to the second wave of pandemic, theatres across the country remain shut. With a threat of third wave looming in large, there is still no confirmation regarding when things return back to normalcy. In Telugu industry, several big films are already planning for direct OTT releases.

Tollywood star Venkatesh Daggubati’s two upcoming films ‘Narappa’ and ‘Drushyam 2’ are most likely to be released on OTT platforms. As per reports, both the films have together fetched a Rs 70 crore deal. It is also being said that Rana Daggubati’s ‘Virata Parvam’ makers are also planning to release the film straight on OTT. All the three films are produced by Suresh Productions.

‘Drushyam 2’ directed by Jeethu Joseph has Venkatesh, Meena, Nadiya Moidu and Sampath essaying the main roles. It must be noted that the original version starring superstar Mohanlal also failed to get a theatrical release. It was out directly on Amazon Prime Video.

‘Narappa’ is the official Telugu remake of blockbuster Tamil film ‘Asuran’. It is directed by Srikanth Addala. Venkatesh and Priya Mani play the major roles. Suresh Productions is producing the film along with Kalaippuli S Thanu’s V Creations. Reports suggest that the film might release on Amazon Prime Video on July 24. An official confirmation is awaited in this regard.

‘Virata Parvam’ is a period drama directed by Venu Udugula. The film stars Rana Daggubati, Sai Pallavi, Priyamani, Nandita Das, Naveen Chandra, Zarina Wahab and Easwari Rao.
