Empuraan Gears Up for the Biggest Release in Mollywood History

Mohanlal’s Empuraan, the highly anticipated sequel to Lucifer, is set for an unprecedented release, making history in Malayalam cinema. Directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, the film will hit theaters worldwide on March 27, 2025, in multiple languages, including Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada. In Kerala alone, the film is set to release on over 700 screens, the biggest ever for a Malayalam movie.

The fan frenzy surrounding Empuraan is unmatched. More than 200 fan shows have already been scheduled, and as the release date nears, this number could surpass 500, an all-time record for Mollywood. Massive theater bookings are happening across major cities, with sold-out First Day First Show (FDFS) screenings.

The makers are further building excitement by unveiling character posters daily, which have been receiving tremendous traction on social media. The film, produced by Aashirvad Cinemas in association with Lyca Productions, features cinematography by Sujith Vasudev and music by Deepak Dev. Murali gopi has written the screenplay of this film, which will also have a third part.
