‘Empuraan’ Sets OTT & Satellite Records: Mohanlal’s Industry Hit to Stream on Jio Hotstar from April 24

After creating havoc at the box office, L2E Empuraan is all set to dominate the OTT space! The Mohanlal-starrer will begin streaming on Jio Hotstar from April 24, in all major South Indian languages. The digital rights have reportedly been bagged for a massive ₹60-70 crores, the biggest-ever OTT deal for a Malayalam film, setting a new benchmark in Mollywood.

The blockbuster, directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran and penned by Murali Gopy, has also fetched a record-breaking ₹30 crores for its satellite rights, acquired by Asianet for all language versions. This is yet another historic feat for the film, further solidifying its status as a true pan-Indian success from Malayalam cinema.

In just 21 days, Empuraan has grossed a staggering ₹262 crores worldwide, including ₹86 crores from Kerala, ₹142+ crores from overseas, and ₹35 crores from the rest of India. The film is now the highest-grossing Malayalam movie of all time, marking the 11th industry hit for Mohanlal—the most by any actor in the history of Malayalam cinema.
