Fahadh Faasil’s Irul to release directly in Netflix?

Last year, when the Covid-19 cases where peaking in the State, Fahadh Faasil was among the first mainstream actors from Malayalam industry to return back to the sets and resume shooting. He first did ‘C U Soon’ with Mahesh Narayanan and followed it up with ‘Irul’, directed by debutant Naseef Yusuf Izuddin. It is a small scale film centered mainly around three characters, played by Fahadh, Soubin Shahir and Darshana Rajendran.

Latest buzz is that ‘Irul’ might get a direct OTT release through Netflix. Though the makers are yet to confirm, it is said that they have signed a profitable deal with the streaming giant. The film is jointly produced by Anto Joseph Productions and Plan J Studios.

‘Irul’ is said to be a mystery-thriller set in a bungalow. Jomon T John has cranked the camera and edits are done by Shammer Muhammed. The film’s director Naseef Yusuf Izuddin was the creative director of the production house, Film Tent, which was associated with Excel Entertainment. He was part of popular Bollywood films like ‘Happy New Year’, ‘Dil Dhadkaney Do’, ‘Badlapur’, ‘Raees’, ‘Newton’ and ‘Thumbbad’.
