First look poster of Simbu starrer Maanadu released

The first look poster of Simbu’s new film ‘Maanadu’ has been released. Venkat Prabhu is directing the film, which is a political thriller. Simbu plays a Muslim character named Adbul Khaaliq in the film. The first look features him doing Namaaz with a bullet wound in his forehead. The actor looks almost unrecognizable in his new look for the film.

‘Maanaadu’ has Kalyani Priyadrashan as the female lead. SJ Suryah, Bharathiraja, and Manoj Bharathi will also be seen in important roles. The film has Richard M Nathan as the cinematographer. Venkat Prabhu’s frequent collaborator Yuvan Shankar Raja has been retained as the composer.

‘Maanadu’ was supposed to go on floors much earlier. Last August, due to Simbu’s unavailability, the makers even removed him from the project. But after holding talks with his family and the involvement of various other industry veterans, Simbu rejoined the team. After going through a stunning physical transformation, the actor recently resumed shooting for his portions in Puducherry.
