Five Mammooty films, which are the favorites of Mohanlal

Mammootty and Mohanlal, the kings of Mollywood who are ruling the Malayalam cinema for more than 30 years now, also considered as the legends of acting in Indian cinema. Both of them had come in Mollywood almost at the same time and grown in stature in this industry together. Both of them had acted together in more than 50 films and it is a record considering such films in other film industries in which their superstars had acted together.

Mammootty and Mohanlal are close family friends as well. Even though their fans are at loggerheads all the time, both these stars maintain their great friendship for almost 40 years now. Recently in a media interview Mohanlal had mentioned his five favorite films starring Mammootty.

The first one in the list is New Delhi directed by Joshiey. It was the film that made the comeback of Mammootty possible here in Mollywood. Before that movie was released, Mammootty was almost washed out from Mollywood due to continuous failures. New Delhi was a great come back from him and it was a record breaking success.

The second one on the list is Oru Vadakkan Veeragadha directed by Hariharan and scripted by M T Vasudevan Nair. This film helped Mammootty to get his first national award as well. Oru Vadakkan Veeragadha is considered as one of the all-time classics of Mollywood.

The third film in the list is Mrugaya directed by I V Sasi and scripted by Lohitha das. It helped Mammootty to win the state award for best actor. The central character named Varunni played by Mammootty is considered as one of the best in his career.

The fourth one is Pranjiyettan and the Saint written and directed by Renjith. It was a social satire which got great appreciation from critics and common people alike.

And the fifth and last one in the list is Harikrishnans directed and scripted by Fazil. Mammootty and Mohanlal played the lead in it and it was produced by Mohanlal as well. That film was a big success of that time here in Mollywood.
