Following Mersal’s blockbuster success, Vijay donates Rs 15 lakhs!

Within a month of its release, Vijay’s Mersal has emerged to an all-time blockbuster status. The Atlee directorial was released on October 17, Diwali day, and soon went on a record breaking spree. The movie recently stormed into the elite Rs 200 crore club from its earnings worldwide. With the Telugu version Adirindhi releasing last day to excellent response, the figures are only going up.

Vijay, who is well known for his benevolence, has donated a sum of Rs 15 lakhs to the South Indian film dancers union. A very kind hearted gesture by the star to fund the union. It has a become a habit of sorts for Vijay to help an union or organization after every film release. He also gifts gold chains and coins to his crew members after the completion of shoot.

Vijay recently hosted a posh success party for his Mersal team. The party was attended by almost all the technicians of Mersal. Director Atlee, composer AR Rahman, cinematographer GK Vishnu, editor Ruben, lyricist Vivek and art director T Muthuraj were all present for the party.

Vijay is currently working on the process trying new style and get-ups for his upcoming movie with AR Murugadoss. The film is slated to go on floors by January next year. The movie marks Vijay’s third time association with the ace filmmaker after the blockbuster success of Thuppakki and Kaththi.

Expectations are sky-high among the audience when the duo are teaming up for the third time. An official announcement with details regarding the cast and crew members is expected to be made very soon.
