Gouri Kishan starts shooting for 96 Telugu remake

Gouri G Kishan, who won hearts with her impressive performance in the superhit film ’96’, has been roped in for its Telugu version as well. She is reprising the role of Jaanu in the Telugu remake, which has already started rolling. Earlier in the day, Gouri took to her social media handle to share the news with her followers. C Prem Kumar, who directed the original, is also helming the remake.

’96’, the romantic drama starring Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha is unarguably one of the most sensational blockbusters in South Indian cinema in recent years. The movie tells a poignant tale of two childhood sweethearts who get to meet after two decades for a school reunion. In the Telugu version, Sharwanand and Samantha will be playing the lead roles. Dil Raju of Sri Venkateswara Creations is producing the movie.

Gouri meanwhile has finished shooting for her debut Malayalam film ‘Anugraheethan Antony’, also starring Sunny Wayne. She has also shot for a music video in which she is paired with ‘June’ fame Sarjano Khalid.
