Govind Vasantha scores music for Gautham Menon’s next

Gautham Menon films are known to have great music. The director has collaborated with top composers like AR Rahman, Ilaiyaraja, Harris Jayarj and the results have always been fruitful. Last year, he also gave a big break for youngster Darbuka with ‘Enai Nokki Paayum Thotta’. Menon is now teaming up with Govind Vasantha of ’96’ fame for his new film.

Govind is scoring music for the segment directed by GVM in the upcoming anthology film ‘Putham Pudhu Kaalai’. MS Bhaskar and Ritu Varma star in the film, which has an interesting title — ‘Avarum Naanum/Avalum Naanum’. From the trailer, we presume that the story is about a young girl coming to live with her grand father during the pandemic-induced lockdown days. It will ne interesting to see how GVM and Govind have treated the film musically.

‘Putham Pudhu Kaalai’ is an anthology of 5 short films directed by Sudha Kongara, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Rajiv Menon, Karthik Subbaraj and Suhasini Mani Ratnam. All the stories are during the 21-day lockdown period.

Sudha Kongara’s film titled ‘Ilamai Idho Idho’ stars Kalidas Jayaram, Kalyani Priyadarshan, Urvashi and Jayaram as the leads. Karthik Subbaraj’s segment is titled as ‘Miracle’. It has Bobby Simha and ‘Petta’ fame Muthu Kumar in the lead roles.

Suhasini Mani Ratnam’s film titled as ‘Coffee, Anyone?’ has her playing one of the leads alongside Anu Haasan and Shruti Haasan. Rajiv Menon’s segment titled ‘Reunion’ stars Andrea Jeremiah, ‘OK Kanmani’ fame Leela Samson and Sikkhil Gurucharan.

‘Putham Pudhu Kaalai’ is scheduled to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on October 16.
