The Great Father teaser outnumbers Aamir Khan’s Dangal

Mammootty’s upcoming movie The Great Father is gearing up for a grand release on March 30. The movie’s teaser was released on February 10 to tremendous response from the viewers. It has already fetched more than 50 lakh views in just three days time. With this, the Mammootty starrer has outnumbered the social media views of Aamir Khan’s blockbuster movie Dangal.

The Great Father team used a new option called cross posting to release the teaser in Facebook. Unlike the usual YouTube releases, this time the teaser was uploaded directly on Facebook.

Cross posting makes it easy to post videos to multiple pages at the same time. The teaser was shared on Mammootty, Prithviraj and Dulquer Salmaan’s official pages at a time through cross posting. Through this, even if the video is shared by others, views will be directly attached to the original video. This helps in publicising the movie to a wider audience.

The Great Father is written and directed by newbie Haneef Adeni. The 33 second teaser features a brilliantly filmed introduction scene of Mammootty’s character David Nynan. The actor is in his stylish best sporting the killer beard which has already become a trend. Mammootty’s stylish slow motion walk with Gopi Sunder’s terrific background score reminds one of Amal Neerad’s Big B.

Sneha is playing Mammootty’s wife, Michelle David in the movie. Kollywood actor Arya will be seen in a pivotal character as Andrews Eapen. Shaam, Malavika Mohanan, IM Vijayan, Kammatipadam fame Manikandan Achari and Baby Anikha are also part of the cast. Roby Varghese Raj has wielded the camera for this movie produced by August Cinemas.
