Happy Wedding 2: Omar Lulu announces a sequel for his superhit debut movie!

Omar Lulu is one of the most wanted directors in Mollywood currently. His first two films – Happy Wedding and Chunkkz – were huge commercial hits while his next, Oru Adaar Love is probably the most talked about Malayalam movie in recent years. Even though his movies have failed to impress the critics, common audience, especially the younger generation of movie goers, seem to like his works.

Omar has now announced a sequel for his debut movie, Happy Wedding. Through his official social media handle, he informed that he will be teaming up with Ousepachan Vaalakuzhy, the producer of Oru Adaar Love, for Happy Wedding 2 also.

Happy Wedding, released in 2016, had Siju Wilson, Sharafudheen and Soubin Shahir in the lead roles. It is a full-on-fun entertainer revolving around a bunch of youngsters. Taking everyone by surprise, the movie emerged as a sleeper hit and enjoyed a theatrical run of over 100 days. It is not yet known if Omar will be retaining the same cast for the sequel also.

Omar also had plans to remake Happy Wedding in Tamil. He even met actor Udhayinidhi Stalin to discuss about the project. But there was no follow-up and so we presume that the idea has been shelved for now. After the completion of his ongoing film Oru Adaar Love, Omar will be doing a mass entertainer next. The movie titled as Power Star will be produced by CH Muhammed of Royal Cinemas. The makers are yet to reveal details about its cast and crew.
