Here’s Aishwarya Rai as Nandini in Ponniyin Selvan

After sharing posters featuring Vikram and Karthi, the makers of ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ have introduced Aishwarya Rai’s character. She plays Nandini, the Queen of Pazhuvoor. The film is based on Kalki Krishnamurthy’s historical Tamil novel. It tells the story of early days of Arulmozhivarman, who later became the great Chola emperor, Raja Raja Chola I. Jayam Ravi plays the titular role.

Vikram plays a character named Aditya Karikalan and Karthi essays the part of Vanthiyathevan. The cast also includes Trisha, Vikram Prabhu, Parthiban, Sobhita Dhulipala, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Prakash Raj, Sarath Kumar, Prabhu, Babu Antony, Riyaz Khan, Kishore, Jayaram, Rahman, Lal and Ashwin Kakumanu.

‘Ponniyin Selvan’ is a two-part epic and the first part is set for for release on September 30. The film, which has music is AR Rahman and cinematography by Ravi Varman, is produced by Mani Ratnam’s own banner Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions.
