Here’s the first look of Akshay Kumar’s Kesari!

Akshay Kumar is unarguably at the best phase of his career. Unlike his contemporaries, he is doing films with strong content and is still reaping good commercial success. His last release Toilet: Ek Prem Katha was a big hit and is currently awaiting the release of PadMan, directed by Balki.

Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar has started shooting for new film, Kesari today (January 5). Kesari, based on the Battle of Saragarhi is one of his most ambitious projects. Akshay unveiled his look for the movie through his official Twitter handle. He will be seen playing the role of a military commander of 21 Sikh soldiers named Havaldar Ishar Singh who fought against thousands of Afghani invaders.

Kesari is being directed by Anurag Singh and co-produced by Karan Johar. The movie is heavy on action and the makers have flown in Lawrence Woodward, the stunt choreographer who has worked in films like Mad Max: Fury Road and Moulin Rouge. Akshay will be training in sword-fighting besides rehearsing for other action sequences, which also includes hand-to-hand combat.
